It is still a sellers market! Over the month of November we saw less inventory. While the average single detached home price was down by 1.7%, condos and town homes both saw an increase in selling price.

10 Reasons to Move to the Comox Valley

Have you been thinking about relocating to the Comox Valley? It is a pretty amazing place to live, and the place I have been lucky to call home for the majority of my life. Here are just a few of the reasons that I have chosen to build my life and business here and why I would like to share it with you too!

1) The Ocean

With 4 marinas’ around the valley and multiple boat launches there is also easy access to get out on the water for the day. There is great fishing within 20 minutes, always opportunities to see whales, and amazing beaches like Tree Island and Tribune Bay just a quick ride away.

2) The access to the Outdoors

Can’t decide between swimming in the lake, ocean or river? Don’t worry you can do it all in one day. Want to go on a hike in the mountains? No problem. No matter what outdoor activity you want to do, you can do it here! We have access to amazing places like Strathcona Park, Paradise Meadows up Mt. Washington. Seal Bay Park, and so much more.

3) It’s still a small town

Although it has grown over the 37 years since I was born here, Comox still feels like a small town. While you might not recognize the people walking down the road, they are certainly going to give you a smile and hello as you walk by. We say in the Comox Valley that everything and anything is only a max 20 minute drive away.

4) Amazing Local Products

The Valley is home to Wineries, Breweries, and Distilleries, Cheese Makers, Local Farms and Farm Stands, plus an amazing year-round Farmers Market

5) Festivals and Events

The Filberg Arts Festival, Vancouver Island Music Fest, Comox Nautical Days and the BC Shellfish Festival are just a few of the amazing events that happen throughout the year (when we are not in a pandemic!)

6) The Mountain

Mount Washington is a short drive of only 40 minutes away for skiing and snowboarding in the winter, mountain biking and hiking in the summer. They also offer a variety of family activities like their brand-new zip line adventure.

7) It’s still affordable

If you are looking at transitioning from the city to the island home prices will allow your money to go a lot further here!

8) There are 3 Communities in 1

Comox, Courtenay, and Cumberland are the 3 communities that make up the Comox Valley. Each one is a little different, so there is certainly something for everyone here. Plus an excellent selection of Rural Areas all within a close distance to the 3 communities.

9) Its Central

Whether you are wanting to explore the North Island, the Sunshine Coast, the South Island or West Coast, it is all easily accessible. We have an international airport including 8 daily WestJet flights, seaplanes to connect to downtown Vancouver, and a ferry terminal to many of the smaller islands or Powell River on the Mainland Coast.

10) The Amenities

We have many of the amenities of a larger centre right here in our small-town including Costco, Walmart, Thriftys, Superstore and a great selection of local shops and stores.
